Canada Express Entry Draw

If you are trying to get into Canada, Express Entry might be your option. Canada has a system for choosing immigrants and would-be immigrants by economic category, where most of these categories have waiting periods that can last up to a year. When an economic category opens up in Express Entry, it is often oversubscribed, so people must apply as soon as possible. To make this process easier, Canada has introduced – the Express Entry Draw (EED) – which allows people on the waitlist for the economic category to enter the country.

Express Entry System

The Express Entry system is a screening process used by the Canadian Government to assess the eligibility of foreign nationals for immigration to Canada. The system uses a method to evaluate applicants’ skills, economic status, and other factors.

How to Enter and Who Can Enter?

There are three ways to enter Canada through the Express Entry Draw: as a provincial nominee, employer, or fiancé of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. As a skilled worker, you must meet at least some set requirements to use Canada’s Express Entry system. However, even if you meet these requirements, you might not get an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada. Candidates with stronger profiles will always be chosen over candidates who only meet the minimum requirements.

Tenure for Express Entry

From the time an Express Entry profile is sent in, to the time a permanent resident visa is given, the process can take as little as six months. But not every case will move along this quickly. If you don’t get an invite to apply, your Express Entry profile will stay in the pool of candidates for 12 months. If you haven’t been invited after 12 months, you can resubmit your profile and stay in the pool.
