Saskatchewan Organizes the Biggest PNP Draw of 2021
Canadian provinces have been holding regular draws this year to invite skilled workers who will be able to fill the labor gaps for greater economic success. Saskatchewan also suffered immigration losses in 2020 because of the pandemic and has been making a greater effort to invite more candidates in 2021. Saskatchewan held its most recent draw under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on November 18 and issued a total of 633 invitations to eligible candidates.
Details of the draw
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program took a break from conducting Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws for a while. However, the November 18 draw was highly successful considering that over 600 candidates received invitations under two immigration streams. Saskatchewan assigned 14 eligible professions under each category. Among the invited candidates, 425 of them might satisfy the eligibility requirements of SINP’s Express Entry subcategory. The other 208 candidates might fulfill the eligibility requirements for the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.
All the invited candidates had a minimum score of 65 points as per Saskatchewan’s Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking system. Saskatchewan’s EOI system lets the province select immigration candidates who have the potential to be successful in the province. The candidates are assigned scores on the basis of their work experience, educational qualifications, language skills, age, and existing connections to the province. The candidates required Educational Credential Assessments to prove that their foreign education met the Canadian standard.
Express Entry candidates who manage to secure provincial nominations will get 600 extra CRS points to boost their application. As a result, they will have a greater chance of getting invited to apply for permanent residence.
