Like all other Canadian provinces, Quebec has been organizing draws regularly to invite skilled, eligible candidates who will be able to make significant contributions to the economy. Quebec regular skilled worker program operates a little differently as compared to the ones in the other provinces, but the objective remains the same.
Quebec recently held the second round of invitations in September via the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). This program caters to skilled workers with the potential to become economically successful in Quebec. International graduates, as well as skilled workers, can use the program to immigrate to the province permanently.
Details of the draw
On September 30, the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) issued 536 invitations to skilled, eligible candidates who will now have the chance to apply for permanent selection. The candidates who qualified to receive invitations required a minimum score of 562 as per the Arrima pool scoring systeṃ.
For this draw, the province wanted to focus on candidates engaged in professions that are in high demand in Quebec. Furthermore, Quebec targeted the candidates who have already secured a valid job offer somewhere outside the Montréal Metropolitan area. The occupations that received priority include:
