In total, Quebec has now issued invitations to 1,757 skilled worker candidates who have Arrima. Quebec distributed 162 invitations to candidates so they can apply for selection as part of the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Two draws were held in October.
The details pertaining to the draws on 23rd October and 29th October were released on 22nd November. Quebec issued invitations to 89 people on 23rd October, allowing them to apply for permanent selection. The candidates were chosen on the basis of the labor market needs of Quebec.
The candidates who were given invitations to the most recent selection round belonged to the group of roughly 16,000 Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) candidates who had to go through the trouble of having their original applications to the program canceled because of the passage of reforms that affected Quebec’s Immigration Act.
The changes officially became a part of the law on 16th June 2019. Moreover, they were either excluded from the cap in place when they had submitted their applications for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, or they were living in Quebec using a study or work permit on 16th June 2019.
The candidates who were invited on 23rd October possessed an Expression of Interest in the online registration portal dedicated to Quebec, Arrima. On 29th October 2019, Quebec issued invitations to 73 candidates allowing them to complete their applications for permanent selection.
The people who were invited in the draw had to show a valid offer of employment.
Invitations were also distributed among foreign nationals living in Quebec because of official duties. These officials included consular officers, representatives of intergovernmental organizations, and diplomats, among other professions. From 4th July to now, Quebec has given invitations to 1,757 QSWP candidates who have an Arrima profile.
