Due to the global pandemic, PEI will not invite candidates for immigration in their March Expression on Interest draw that would have been taking place on the 19th.
Not only are they delaying the EOI draw on 19th March but according to the island’s website, their office will be closed in the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although they stated that their next monthly draw would happen on April 16, the postponed date for the 19th March draw wasn’t revealed.
This year, from January to February, Prince Edward Island has given out 276 invitations altogether.
The Express Entry section in Prince Edward Island’s Provincial Nominee Program is directly connected to the Express Entry system of Canada’s federal government. This system operates applications of 3 economic class programs, namely the Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program.
The Express Entry profiles of the candidates are first put in the pool list and have a CRS score that depends on factors like work experience, age, education, etc. However, the candidates who have provincial nomination will get a bonus CRS point of 600, and a guaranteed ITA in the following Express Entry draw from the Canadian government.
And for the Express Entry candidates to get the nomination from Prince Edward Island, they have to make the EOI profile via PEI PNP.
