Alberta recently revealed the details of the draws conducted on 11th & 18th September, and it goes to prove that more people are being given the opportunity of applying for Canada permanent residence. Alberta immigration has focused on Express Entry candidates with the CRS score as low as 302.
The draws were conducted under the Alberta Express Entry Stream of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). The stream allows the AINP to search the Express Entry stream to pick the eligible candidates who work in an occupation of economic importance to Alberta. The stream also picks federal candidates who demonstrate strong ties to the province of Alberta.
The Alberta Express Entry stream is popular among the aspirants as it is more lenient with CRS score requirements. Candidates are not required to have a job offer in Alberta, but having one may increase the chances of receiving an invitation.
The EE candidates who are issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the Government of Alberta get an advantage because they are able to add 600 additional points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. As a result, they have a higher chance of receiving an invitation, which would allow them to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
During the 11th September invitation round, 339 candidates were invited with the cut-off score was 302 in Alberta. In the second draw held on 18th September, 139 NOIs were issued to candidates with the lowest CRS score being 350.
Alberta has issued 4,378 provincial nominations in 2019 so far. The eligibility criteria to become a potential candidate in the Alberta Express Entry Stream is that the candidate must be working in a profession which boosts Alberta’s economic development.
