Amendments To Alberta PNP Applications Will Be Inclusive Of New Fees And Online Portal
Immigrants who are planning to settle down in Alberta (Alberta PNP) will now be able to submit their applications for most immigration programs virtually. The province recently introduced new fees that immigrants will have to pay in order to have their applications processed.
Changes
You will be able to apply for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) online unless you are part of the Self-Employed Farmer Stream. The candidates who are in the Alberta Express Entry Stream should receive authorization from AINP if they want to access the new portal.
In a media release, the AINP said that the portal is meant to make the process of immigration applications easier. Candidates who are applying to any of the province’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) receive help for entering data and a customized list of documents. If they wish, they will be able to save a draft so they can complete the application at a later time.
The system will conduct an initial assessment to determine eligibility so that candidates who do not fulfill basic criteria are filtered out right at the beginning.
New fees
All the applications submitted by candidates via the online portal will be subject to a $500 processing fee. It will cover the cost of application processing and is mandatory irrespective of whether candidates manage to get a provincial nomination or not. The fee is non-refundable once you have submitted your application.
Candidates who submitted their applications for the Alberta Express Entry Stream or the Alberta PNP Opportunity Stream by mail on or before October 1 will not have to pay the fee.
However, applicants under the Self-Employed Farmer Stream who submitted their applications via mail after October 1 will have to pay the fee.
