This year, Canada is significantly increasing the number of Express Entry draws and sending out a lot of invitations for the Express Entry Candidates. It is because, for the year 2020, Canada has set its ITA target to be 85000. And therefore, to meet this target score, the country is organizing frequent draws.
In two months, Canada has issued over 4,500 invitations in answer to the applications by the Express Entry candidates for permanent residency. The CIC has also organized four draws. It means that more and more people will have the probability of getting permanent citizenship this year.
The Express Entry category of immigration candidates is sub-categorized into Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trade Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class. People from all these categories can apply for Express Entry invitations. They will have to submit applications to the Government of Canada via the Express Entry System.
On this basis of these applications, candidates will receive rankings through the Comprehensive Ranking System. They receive ranks on their language proficiency, educational background, age, work experience, and communication skills. A high grade in CRS means a better chance of getting an invitation.
The Government processes permanent residency applications within six months.
The minimum CRS scores differ by each draw, and the latest draw had a score of 470. All the 4500 candidates who were at the draw this year received their invitation.
If you are someone with a low CRS, you need to look to increase your chances of getting permanent residency. Applying for a provincial nomination is one of the avenues you can look into. About nine provinces in Canada and two territories offer PNP for immigrant candidates. Provincial Nominations boost up the CRS by 600 points, and they have links with the Express Entry System. It helps to increase the chances of getting an invitation for permanent residency. Job offers in Canada is another way by which one can increase the CRS score.
